Automotive Projects

Cummins is the largest user of CyberMetrix software.   CyFlex software is installed and supported in over 325 installations worldwide and accessible from CyberMetrix offices in Columbus, Indiana. Supported tests include engine and component performance, endurance, and emissions tests and hardware-in-the-loop algorithm development. The CyberMetrix system allows unattended, round-the-clock testing. Test planning and utilization monitors ensure test assets are used efficiently and cost effectively. Web-enabled post processing and data management systems allow product information to be shared throughout the corporation.

Residential Heating System Development

The diversity of CyberMetrix’s technical skills was demonstrated by the development and installation of a large-scale Accelerated Life Testing System for a leading manufacturer for heat pumps and air-conditioning equipment.  The system manages multiple environmentally-controlled test cells and manages real-time testing involving over 8000 channels of data.  CyberMetrix provides ongoing system support.

Radiation Therapy Database and Controls

The Midwest Proton Radiotherapy Institute (MPRI) offers proton therapy treatment, a precise method for delivering radiation generated by the Indiana University Cyclotron for cancer patients.   CyberMetrix provides support services the development of a F.D.A. certified medical treatment facility in the areas of networking of real-time systems and data management.

Vehicle Datalink Testing Tool

A leading truck and engine producer needed a test and development tool to ensure that the digital control data carried on the vehicle datalink was interference free. CyberMetrix developed a CAN EMI monitoring test instrument integrating CyberMetrix systems and software solutions with third- party optical isolation. The testing system is now a regular part of the engine, transmission and vehicle control system testing process.

Largest Test Article - Planet Earth

The United States Geological Survey monitors changes in the earth's magnetic field brought about by solar storms and shifts in the earth's mantel.  CyberMetrix utilized a PC-based system and leverage commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products to minimize the cost of a Central Processing Center (CPC). The system is currently in operation and provides remote control and data access to USGS magnetometer data from 17 observatories around the globe. The site consists of a vector and scalar magnetometer, GPS time base receiver and various environmental sensors as well as a GOES satellite transmitter to send the collected data back to a central processor location.

Smallest Test Article - RC Race Car Chassis Dyno

Shown at the left is a chassis dyno for a 1/10 scale RC car.  It was designed for demo purposes to show the flexibility of the CyFlex-RA test system and the LabVIEW operator panel. The test rig itself is a product of our mechanical engineering effort and typical of the kind of innovative test systems we offer.  The rig measures 18"x30" and allows testing at speeds up to 30mph.  The photo below shows the rig in use at our booth at Testing Expo in Detroit in October 2003.   Larger views are available by clicking on the images.
